Do you like coffee? I LOVE coffee and drink WAY too much...like 14 cups per day. But anyway if you do or don't get yourself some cone coffee filters in any size because I think your going to love this cute little basket I designed...
Want to know how to make this and what it has to do with coffee filters? Check it out...first you need some coffee filters...I used the number four size.
Next you need your basics, plus a small circle punch, a corner rounder punch and sticky strip. (Again use any sizes you want...you may have to adjust the circle punch depending on the corner rounder size you have...)
You also need some designer paper, a stamp set, cardstock and some wide ribbon. You can embellish this a little or a lot. Leftovers from a Simply Scrappin' Kit work GREAT, that is what I used.
Snip off the little tab/nub thing.
Trace the filter on to your paper or create a template on heavy stock, such as the backing to your designer paper...
Cut two out flipping the filter or template over, these filters are NOT symmetrical and the front and back will not align if you don't flip and trace. Also pay close attention that you get the correct side of your two sided paper.
VERY IMPORTANT!!! you need to leave, trace to your template or add, about 1/2" to the curved edge for your scallops...I just make a template and I only have to worry about this once...
Did you know you can create a scallop on a circle or curved edge by taking the guard off your corner rounder??? Here it is...
The biggest tip is to practice on scrap first, and to GO SLOW...punch your edges of scallops on the front and back designer paper pieces...
Punch out a ton of little circles, you can do them all the same or create an alternating pattern, etc. Glue them to the edge of ONE designer paper...you only have to do one edge.
(sorry some of these shots are blurry...) lay your covers aside and get your sticky strip and coffee filter...
Attach your ribbon next. Repeat for both sides with ribbon straddling the inside opening...make sure it is long enough to fill and or hang on a hook or door knob if you like. (Think May Day basket like when you made them in grade school.)
Glue your front and back on with the sticky strip.
Embellish with stamped elements, Simply Scrappin' Kit Elements and a tag if you wish. Fill with a goodie or gift. Make more!!
Here is a close up of the cute little tag. That is one of the stamp sets you can get free with any $50 order starting Feb. 1st...
Goodies used: Best Wishes & More & Yummy (SAB) Stamp Sets, Petal Party Simply Scrappin" Kit, Pumpkin Pie Paper & Ink, Old Olive Paper & Ink, Sticky Strip, Circle Punch, Corner Rounder, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in Regal Rose. (Various accessories depending on the sample.)
Well what do you think? Too cute? I sent this little design to Stampin' Up! for the display boards at Stampin' Ups! Leadership Training in Orlando Florida this week. I couldn't show you this till now...hope you like it.
I made some more of these little goodies with the new Hostess Bundle coming January 19th. And will get those added to my posts ASAP.
I had some major drama with James this week so Scrap Saturday will be posted later today or tonight as well as Project 365 updates. I hope you have a FANTASTIC Saturday. Thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. Diana
Oh...so WAY cute! That will be great for Valentine's and May Day baskets! You are so clever! Hope things are better w/ James. It's those pre-teen years.
